Skype™ On Cellphone

Skype™ release now its popular VoIP software also for a lot of cellphones like Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Samsung, the complete list of compatible models is on the Skype™ website, in the download page.
The download happen simply inserting your cellphone number, then you will receive an SMS containing the download link for the application.
If your cellphone integrate a Wi-Fi connection, you can use Skype™ with every available Wi-Fi LAN.

The Gizmo Project's VoIP

Gizmo Project propose itself as another Skype™ concurrent but with lower rates and the chance to make free phone calls in many countries without spending a cent.
Besides we have the possibility to get a personal number to receive normal phone calls called Gizmo Call In and it is possible to buy credit to make calls to landlines phones and cell phones (Gizmo Call Out).
An example of the rates to call in the U.S.A.: to a landline phone and cell phone we spend 0,019 dollars, while making a call to Italy we'll spend 0,02 dollars to landlines phones and 0,32 dollars to cell phones; all the rates are available at this link.
The current version available in multilanguage is downloadable from the official site and it's the 3.1.0.276 release dated 7th of May 2007, lower releases but however functional are available also for Mac and Linux.
To know also the compatibility with the Asterisk® software and SIP protocol.
Gizmo is available also for the following cell phones: Nokia N800, Nokia 770 and Nokia N80 IE.

VoIP On Symbian Phones

Its name is Fring, it's a software still in beta test, to allow owners of phones with Symbian operating system (Nokia at first) with GPRS or Wi-Fi Internet connection to make phone calls by the phone.
The cost is just the one of the GPRS connection or similar of your phone company; So it is possible to call Skype™ users and Google Talk users just paying your cellphone's internet connection and use SkypeOut credit to call regular phones.
If you want to try this software just surf to http://www.fring.com/ or directly to the download page http://www.fring.com/download/, fill the registration module with the requested data: cellphone brand and model, nationality, e-mail address, cellphone number on which Fring will be installed; almost instantly will be sent an SMS to your cellphone containing a link to download and install the software. This link must be "clicked" by the browser of your cellphone, Fring will be downloaded and installed like a normal Symbian application.
After Skype for Pocket PC and Skype for Windows Mobile will Skype release a version for Symbian Phones? Cellphones with this operating system are largely diffused...
